The test is conducted for Short Service Commission SSC / Regular in Technical and Ground Duty Branches for Male & Female candidates. There are 3 different branches in AFCAT:
Ground Duty: The candidates must have a age limit of 20-27 years. He/she should have done PG or Bachelor degree in any subject with at least 60% aggregate marks. Flying Branch: The candidate must have 19-23 years of age. The candidate must have done B.E/B.tech in recognized universitywith 60% aggregate. Technical Branch: The candidate must have 18-28 years of age. For this branch the candidate must have done aeronautical engineering with 60% aggregate. |

the afcat exam consists of 2 stages
objective written exam ssb interview the written exam mainly comprises questions from your technical subjects and basic sciences.a knowledge of the fundamentals of each subject and learning of formulaes is sufficient to clear the exam. the selected candidates are called for ssb interview which is tough to crack since majority of candidates are eliminated within the very first day.always have a positive outlook while giving answers to questions they ask.also the ssb is generally held in 3 cities- dehradun benaras mysore |

AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST (AFCAT)
SYLLABUS OF AFCAT General Awareness History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc Verbal Ability in English Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary. Numerical Ability Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit& loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability. Simple interest. The AFCAT Paper will have 100 questions. Pattern of AFCAT:
It consists of 100 questions of duration 2 hours and each question carry 3 marks. Thus AFCAT is a 300 mark test. This examination consists of four sections as below: General Awareness English language. Numerical Ability. Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. You have to appear in PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) if you had opted for Flying branch and after that AFSB Interview You have to take Engineering Knowledge Test if you had opted for Technical branch and after that AFSB Interview After you clear all these obstacles, you have to undergo the Medical examination. Eligibility for the exam ::As the examination is done for all three branches so their eligibility criteria is also different . Ground Duty Branches Your age should be between 20-27 You should have the PG or Bachelor degree in any subject with at least 60% aggregate marks. Flying Branch You should be between 19 to 23 years. You must must have the B.E / B.Tech degree or a Graduate in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks and should have maths and physics as a compulsory subjects. Technical Branch You must be between 18-28 years of age You should have done your Engineering with minimum 60% marks. |

Stage-1 :- Intelligence Test Stage-2 :- Psychological Test Stage-3 :- i. Pilot Aptitude Battery Test(PABT) ii. Engineering Knowledge Test(EKT) Above all these three tests are completed the candidates who cleared the above three stages are sent for medical test.The candidates who have cleared this are elected as the officers. all the best. |

Pattern:
Selection process for AFCAT TEST consist of four rounds i.e.written exam followed byInterview.First Round is Written examination which is consisting of objective type (multiple choice questions) on general awareness,English language, mathematical aptitude, reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidatewill get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted undernegative marking. The total time allotted for the paper istwo hours.Here is Syllabus for AFCAT: (a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc. (b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary. (c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest. (d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability. Selected Candidates in the written test will be called for3 day test/interview subsequently. Second Round will have Psychlogical Test,Group Test and Interview . After Clearing there will be Branch Test which is third round. 1)Candidates who opted Flying Branch, will undergo PABT(Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) 2)Candidates who opted Technical Branch, will undergo EKT(Engineering KnowledgeTest) There will be no test for Ground Duty opted Candidates.
