I have completed my 12th.I'm from commerce group.
Now i'm thinking to do this (c.s) course.please give me some information about this.What is the first step to do this course after 12th and how many subjects are there? plz also tell what is the duration period of this course ?

COMPANY SECRETARY course has three levels:-
Foundational , Executive and Professional

Duration of courses is 8months.prospectus & application forms are available at headquarters/ regional councils/ chapters. For CS Foundation programme- cash payment of Rs. 200/- or by Post/ courier D.D.or P.O. Rs. 250/- and for executive programme- cash payment of Rs.300/- or by Post/ Courier-D.D. or P.O. Rs. 350/-. Demand Draft or Post Order in favor of “The Institute of Company Secretaries of India” payable at New Delhi. Fee payable at the time of admission is Rs. 3600/-
Application should be accompanied by attested photocopies of sr. secondary examination pass certificate, date of birth and two passport size photographs. THE Cs course is by corresponding/ distance learning, with provision for optional oral coaching classes. Admission is open throughout the year.



Besides, the student has to undergo Practical Training for about 15 months.

The Company Secretary course is a very promising and High gain course for any student after completing 12th or after completing graduation

both the type of students can do this course
as you are a categoried student after completing 12th first I want to say is the duration of the course for you
it takes minimum of 3 and half years for you to complete this course.

This course is done in three levels
->Foundation program
->Executive program
->professional program

Foundation program is the program conducted for 8 months or so. This program can pursued by Arts Science and Commerce stream excluding Fine arts stream

Executive program: It can be pursued only by a graduate.

Professional program : this program can be pursued by the student who has completed the Executive program only

The three programs has examination in the months of June and December of every year

The course fee for all the three stages including Registration,Examination fee,and computer training for only just Rs.25000

Subjects for CS program

For Foundation program There are 4 papers

For Executive Program there are 8 papers

For Professional program there are 8 papers

The detailed subjects are attached along a word file so that there will be no typo errors by me.

This is all about the basic information about the Company secretary course.

well , there are so many short term courses available today and being a commerce student you are not eligible for b.tech like long term courses . I think you should do the multimedia course or there are so many course are being introduced by the govt. in the computer science field . There are also many certificate course which you can do.
you can do the diploma course also. These courses also being liked by the students.

Dear student,
well there are so many courses which you can do . There are so many short term courses for you . well this doesnot matter that you are a commerce student for the computer science course . This is true that you cannot apply for b.tech cs engineering. but you can also do the short term course like multimedia . And so many courses are available in computer field. you can do other diploma course.

CS is the one of the professional course after 12th. because most of the subject are related to commerce and law. there are so many requirement of CS in the future. i am not having the entire detail about it, but I know that it is the good Currier option.

The minimum eligibility required for the foundation course for training as a Company Secretary is 10+2 or an equivalent examination.

Graduates or post-graduates in commerce, or any other discipline except fine arts, are allowed to skip the foundation course and enrolled directly for the intermediate examination.

This exemption is also extended to those who have passed out of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountancy or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

For better prospects one may opt for the Company Secretary course after having completed either the Cost and Works Accountancy course or the Chartered Accountancy course or both.

The course The Institute of Company Secretaries of India conduct examinations for different levels of competencies. Those who clear these examinations are granted membership to the Institute.

CS courses and their time period-

Company Secretary course

Time period is 3 and half years .


Foundation program-
Time period of this exam is 8 months.

Executive program:
It is only for graduate.

Professional program :
this program can be pursued by the student who has completed the Executive program only
