Re: Required Qualification to become a BDO?
BDO accepts applications from
graduates as well as final year students, although candidates should be prepared to demonstrate how postgraduate education, work or a gap year have made them more capable of doing the jobs they are applying for. The qualification requirements are: Bs in GCSE Maths and English 280 UCAS points A 2.1 or above in any discipline, apart from roles in the forensic services department which require a 2.1 or above in an IT- related degree Skills required Client service – establishing excellent working relationships based on your initiative and resourcefulness. Commercial and market focus – applicants should understand the implications of BDO’s work from the perspective of clients as well as from their own point of view. Accountability – taking a creative approach to producing high quality work while meeting deadlines. Communication skills - a very broad statement, but this really means you have to think about who'll you'll be working with. When communicating with particular clients, different approaches need to be taken. Think about internal departments as well, what kind of information would they need from you, and how will you be presenting this to them? Teamwork – respecting others’ contributions while being able to positively influence colleagues and clients. As well as these competencies, BDO says it wants attentiveness, sharpness, energy and resourcefulness in the main, but there is further reference to, 'The Difference Inside'. These are qualities that are inherent to the individual person - a natural strength, in short. Some may be good with clients, others better with mathematical data, for example. In short, the advice is to just be honest, and not play up to any stereotype that you think BDO might want in an employee. |
