Re: Difference between AMIE and AMIETE? Is there any difference in the syllabus? How to apply for it?
1. Both AMIE and AMIETE are names of two membership levels offered to candidates passing specified number of examinations. Passing any of these examinations are equivalent to B.E/B.Tech qualification. As mentioned, these are two examinations. The AMIE examinations are conducted by Institution of Engineers Kolkata, and AMIETE examinations are conducted by The Electronics and telecommunication Engineers, Delhi (IETE)
AMIE examinations are conducted in 13 different disciples like Civil, Mechanical etc. But AMIETE examinations are conducted in Electronics, Computer Science and Information Technology. Hence you can become an Electronics engineer by passing either AMIE or AMIETE exam, but you cannot be a graduate in Civil engineering from IETE. Both are recognized by Central as well as State govts in India, but the degrees of IETE is not as popular as that of AMIE especially in private sector. 2. The syllabus of both are different. But both are similar in the content-level 3. Priority is given to AMIE 4. Fee/ expenditure are comparable. 5, In order to apply for AMIE visit www.ieindia.info . For applying AMIETE ref www.iete.info 6. For further information and guidelines visit www.amieindia.in |
