Hi.. I am looking for computer engineering courses for my brother whose 10th results are expected in a few days. Are diploma courses easy to get admission? How different is a diploma different from a bachelors in computer science (software). We intend to continue a bachelors degree after diploma. Is it wise to do so?

Admission in the diploma course after completing 10th class.

If your brother is interested in the diploma course then he takes admission in the diploma course after completing 10th class. After completing diploma he can take admission in the direct 2nd year of B.Tech course through the lateral entry examination. Diploma is the three year courses.

B.Tech and diploma course both are different because B.Tech is the graduate level degree and diploma is the not a graduate level degree it is equivalent to 12th class. If you do diploma after 10th then after completing diploma you can take admission in the direct 2nd year of B.Tech course through lateral entry examination.

IIT and NIT college not take admission through lateral entry. So, if you do diploma course then you can not take admission in the B.Tech course of IIT and NIT college but you can take admission in the many state government and private institute of India.

Many institute/college take admission in the diploma course through entrance examination but some institute take admission in the diploma course on the basis of marks obtained in the 10th class. So, if you are interested in the diploma course then you can appear in the entrance examination which is conducted by college/University.

Ya diploma is a very good course before b.tech. Because it is the practical training for b.tech. After finishing the diploma you have a clear idea about the b.tech/be. So diploma is very good to do before b.tech/be. All the best

you can get for the diploma in the any engineering branch. the diploma is called as the junior engineering and the b.e is called as the seiner engineering.

for the b.e you must fight the PET, AIEEE, IIT entrance exam. these are very hard entrance exam.

bur you ca do your diploma after completing the 10th. and you can get the engineering college after completing the diploma.

Is it easy to get admission in diploma after 10th? How different is diploma from B.E?

Yes offcourse, it is a bit easy to get admission in diploma after 10th than getting entry in b.tech or b.e after class 12th because you have to appear in tough engineering entrance exams like -AIEEE and IIT-JEE which are cosidered tough to crack.

However through Diploma to Degree programme, one can easily get admission directly into 2nd year of B.Tech after completing 3 years diploma after class 10th.

Note- The students having 2 years diploma after class 10th are not eligible under Diploma to Degree programme.

Yes, it is very easy to get admission for diploma. You can directly get admission in any polytechnic college. Diploma offers basics of engineering, so it is wise to do degree after diploma.

after 10th pass your brother may go for diploma in engineering course. the diploma engineering entrance examination mainly based on 10th subject. so your brother may appear in the examination and may crack the examination. but obviously for a 12th pass student it is more easy to crack the entrance examination than a 10th pass candidates. still your brother may try if your brother can crack the examination and get chance to take admission in a good institution then he may go for it.

in some institution they take admission in diploma in engineering program directly according to the 10th percentage. if your brother have good percentage in 10th then he may try through this to take admission in good institution.

if he really want to do B.E/B.Tech later then i will suggest to complete his 12th first with science stream. after that he should try for engineering entrance examination, if he able to crack the examination with good rank then he may take admission otherwise he may take admission in diploma in engineering at that time. may be in this way he will loss two years but his knowledge will be more and i think he will get more opportunity if he goes for diploma after 12th.

there are lots off difference between diploma in B.Tech. B.Tech is a bachelor degree course of engineering. the opportunity and a scope after B.tech is very high than diploma in engineering. in diploma you will get a brief knowledge about computer science engineering. but in B.Tech Computer science engineering you will get good idea about computer science engineering.

see, every thing is easy also every thing is tough.

It is fully depend on you. generally Diploma engineering is more easy to complete than Degree engineering.

diploma engineering you can do after 10th.

where as degree engineering you can do after 12th.

after doing diploma through the JELET exam you can do the B.E/B.TECH.

diploma is a poly technique course. where as BE is a degree course.

It will be better if you can do BE/B.tech.

you will be get more jobs opportunity after doing BE/B.tech.

Diploma After 10th

Well..in my opinion..there is nothing wrong with doing diploma after 10th and then going for Bachelors Degree but i would say that this limits your scope and opportunities..

If you are looking for an easy way out for your brother then this would be certainly the easiest way to get away with your B.Tech because it is comparatively quite easy to get into and after that..lateral entry exams are also quite easy comparatively so this would be a nice way..

But,this would limit his opportunities and moreover..your brother will have a disadvantage during the placements..as the companies generally prefer the students who have faced the competitions and then made it this far..

Well..this is completely a personal opinion..

You can go for whatever you like..

A candidate can apply for the B.Tech course after the diploma through lateral entry scheme.
You will get admission directly in the second year through lateral entry scheme. You can't apply
for the NIT or IIT through lateral entry scheme.
Various university conducts counselling for the lateral entry scheme candidates. On the basis
of counselling you will get admission in the college.

So you can apply for the engineering course after the completion of your diploma through
lateral entry scheme only.
