PSU stands for the Public Sector Undertakings. Examples of PSUs are BHEL, SAIL, GAIL, NTPC etc.

If we go some years back, almost all Public sector undertakings used to recruit candidates by taking their own entrance test but in the recent years the trend has totally changed.

Nowadays the importance of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering scorecard and rank plays a vital role in getting selected in Public Sector Undertakings.

Almost all Public Sector Undertakings in present scenario short list candidates on the basis of GATE scorecard.

If you want to get short listed for the Public Sector Undertakings, you need to secure better rank among top 500, you have good chances of getting shortlisted by different PSUs for the further recruitment selection process.

After that Public Sector undertakings conducts

>>Group Discussion

>>Personal Interview.

GATE 2015 exam is over and result has also been declared. Some of the PSUs like ONGC, Coal India has already released notification for recruitment of candidates through GATE scorecard.

So if your GATE score and rank is as per required by the PSUs, you can apply for the recruitment to specified PSUs.

Consider yourself fortunate that you chose civil engineering 4 years back. There has been a high boom in the market for civil engineers both for private and public sector.

Nearly all the PSu's(if we leave a handful of them) take civil engineers. PSU's like NHAI take only civil engineers. State organisations like GDA and DDA also make intake of CIVIL engineers in large numbers.

Now coming the eligibility and selection procedure.
>> Most of these recruit through the score of GATE. If you have a valid GATE score then you can apply for the posts.

>> Other than GATE some also conduct their own exams and clearing those you can become eligible for the interview.
