sir, would it be better to go for psu exams or complete mtech in case of ec engineer, what is the salary in psu's hiring ec engineers

to do job or to do M.TECH depends on you.

first decide this thing clearly.

i will suggest you to go for higher studies . after that you will be eligible for jobs in PSUs in a higher post.

you will also get higher salary as compared to b.tech.

but if you want to join PSUs after b.tech then you can aspect salary of around 30,000 per month.

PSU is better.companies like BHEL are offering 50k per month for freshers even if u complete MTECH u r sal will be just 25k in an eng college.

u can also do a job and after some years of exprince u can do m.tech,.

According to me you should complete the M.Tech because after completing the course you will gain a vast knowledge in your subject,you will be more experienced in your field.

After all choice is yours,if you have much more interest in job so you can join PSU.

in general the salary starts can get anywhere between Rs. 20,000/- to Rs.35,000/- per month .

Well friend, the call has to be entirely yours. People will tell you that M.Tech will get you better jobs with fat pay packets; but if you consider the case of NTPC (a Maharatna category company), you will find that this is far from the truth...because here at NTPC, fresh Technical graduates are recruited through the 'Executive Trainee Scheme' Moreover, these days the Navaratna and Maharatna PSUs are offering real hefty pay packets (between Rs 30,000 and 50, 000), so there is nothing to lose.

I'll only add that no matter what you choose, you will have to work very hard in order to ensure that you either get a very coveted job with the Navaratna/Maharatna PSUs or score really high at both the UG and PG level.

actually it is more usefull to study after b.tech. if you complete your mtech after btech and then if you recruit in PSUs your salary will be more as your degree is m.tech.

after ECE better is to complete your mtech from a very good institution with a very good subject. then join in PSUs. the salary, responsibilty, scope, job opportunity all will be high after mtech.

Ofcourse consider MTech. Why hurry to start earning. If you complete your MTech then surely you will earn double of what you could in PSU.

So complete your higher education and then if you want youc an appear for PSU exam or you can get placed in a top notch company which will not refrain from paying you lakhs

It's totally depend upon you but i would like to suggest you that go for M.Tech after completing M.Tech you will get more salary in public sector or in private companies and i want to tell you that you have another option you can go for PSU and when you will get job than you can do M.Tech from distance learning..

It is better for you to prepare for Public sector units jobs rather than M.Tech study because there are so many opportunities for ECE engineers like Junior telecom officers,navaratna companies like NTPC,BHEL,BPCL,IOCL etc....and similarly there are so many Multi national companies are awaitng for you,if you have soft skills and technical skills.
Higher education is also required you can study in distance mode even if you are doing PSU job or MNC job .

I suggest to go for further studies,the reason are

• once you settle in doing job,you will not get any interest to study
• with graduation qualification you may not get expected salary and promotions

After your post graduation you can sit for PSU exam,you can easily crack by keeping little concentrator on the PSU topics,if not will be having lot of opportunity to get job in private sector till you qualify in PSU exam.

currently i am working in a miniratna company from last july2010 . but this company has most of the project overseas........i don't want to work outside india ....thatswhy i am thinking to leave this and want to join 2012GATE ............but after completing M.TECH my Age will be 27years and 6 month.......after that due to age factor ....may i gate PSU again....

it is better to join in psu then depending on requirement psu management will encourage u to do mtech and they provide you stipend then u can be financially stable to take your own decision
Example-: if u are selected for ISRO ,they only encourage u to do mtech in iits by providing necessary amount required for higher studies.

After my B.tech ECE should I join PSU or MBA thorough CAT. I am preparing for CAT but if PSU opportunity availble should I join the PSU or Not?

It is fully depend on you if you want to study further than you can do M.tech and if you want to do job then you can prepare for PSU exams.

one thing i want to clear you that after M.tech you will find your career in field of teaching so be prepare for it and you can also give PSU exams.

Salary in PSU's is around 40 thousand per month.

After ECE how many PSUs exams are available? plz give all d details for all PSUs with name of companies & announcing dates.

Otherwise, if you have interest in doing higher studies then you can go for it..

My suggestion is if you get a job after completion of B.tech , then continue the job..
After gathering the experience of few years , you can go for higher studies, for a better designation...
If you don't get a job after completion of B.tech then you can go for M.tech..

Now it is up to you..

This is full depend on you
if you do Mtech is too good,you will go throug the depth of that subject,it makes u make any achivements in that field
Another one thing is
you get placed in psu companies in college. If you have any economic problem in family you better to go for job,after some 2 or 3 year again you join &complete with correspondence also.
When you get job in psu companies like BSNL,MTNL,ISRO,DRDO,BELL,BHEL.In this companies they gave good salary & they give very good exposure of talented students.There salary package is also starts from 50,000 for one month & also make hike salary for talent exposured students. They make good opportunities for who starts to contuine the study[correspondence].
This all depend on you which one is good for you take &do succes in these field

I suggest you to do m tech only if you get
1-microelectronics in IIT-B,IIT-KGP or IISc bangalore
2-Communication Systems in IIT-R

M Tech or PSU jobs. the selection depends on you.
I am going to list a few points which may help you in deciding

1.) PSU needs exams to be cleared, and then interview to get you employed. But after that your life is set. You dont need to look back.

2.) GATE exam , once you clear, you are open to a lot of PSUs also, as many of them recruit directly on GATE score. but it also enables you to think abuot Mtech, and extending your academic career further.

3.) M tech would increase your market value, and give u an edge over the B-Tech people

4.) PSU salaries are not much, when you see such inflation in our country. Its between 10,600 to 29,000 depending on how well you do in their exam or your GATE score and the interview of course.

5.) Also once you start earning, it certainly drains your interest in studies, and so you won't be interested in studying any further, which may hinder your growth later in life.

So now you can decide with what career you want to go ahead with.
