Re: Eligibility for JEE Main and Advanced 2016
Yes, you are eligible to appear on the examination as per the 2015 notifications. The notification for the 2016 is not available.
The JEE examination is conducted by the CBSE and the examination is conducted in the two stages as the Mains and the Advance. The eligibility to appear in the Mains examination is :- * Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or appearing from the recognised board. * Candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subject in the board examination. So you are eligible to appear in the Mains examination. The maximum number of attempts is three. The examination paper contains the question of PCM. The candidate who qualify in the Mains are only eligible to appear for the Advance examination. On the basis of the Advance rank the candidate are offered the admission in the IIT where on the Mains they are eligible to get the admission in the NIT and other government institutions. So you can appear but to qualify you have to work hard to get the success. |

Re: Eligibility for JEE Main and Advanced 2016
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination and it is an engineering entrance examination held by CBSE for the selection of deserving students for their admission in the engineering colleges ( IIT, IIIT, NIT, ISM ) managed by Central government for their Bachelor degree course in technical field.
The same examination is held in two stages and are known as JEE Mains and JEE Advance respectively. The minimum qualification required for appearing in the JEE Mains examination are as here under :- --> A higher secondary school degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects with at least 50% marks from a recognized board of education. --> Also age of applicant must be within 17 years to 25 years till the final date of year in which you are appearing for the same examination. * For JEE Advance, you are required to qualify the stage one i.e; JEE Mains along with that much percentage of marks in your board examination such that you last among the top 20 percentile students of your respective board. Now since you have managed over 80% marks in the PCM so you are eligible for the JEE Mains but I am bit worried about your eligibility for JEE Advance with 72% marks in your 12th UP board as for the UP board cutoff lies over 75% marks. But for confirmation of your eligibility you must check the cutoff list for UP board from their official link. For more queries concerning with JEE you can log on to the link www.cbse.nic.in. |

Re: Eligibility for JEE Main and Advanced 2016
JEE stands for the Joint Entrance examination. This entrance examination is conducted by Central board of Secondary education.
It has two stages: 1. Joint Entrance examination Mains. 2. Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Minimum eligibility criteria in terms of academic qualification for this exam is that you must have done 10+2 from a recognized board with compulsory subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with English. There is nothing to worry, you are eligible for the JEE mains which is the first stage of JEE after having 72% aggregate in U.P board. The marks secured in 10+2 plays a vital role in getting good rank as overall rank in mains is calculated on the basis of performance in JEE mains and 10+2 result. Once you clear the JEE mains with good rank, you will be eligible for the admission in various National Institute of Technology in undergraduate course of engineering. For admission in Indian Institute of Technology, you will have to crack JEE advanced stage also. Your overall rank in advanced stage will decide whether you will get admission in IIT or not. You must aim to score well so as to compensate for less 10+2 marks as you will have to face competition from large number of candidates with good percentage of marks in 10+2. |

Re: Eligibility for JEE Main and Advanced 2016
Eligibility criteria for the Joint Entrance Examination:
Joint Entrance exam has two stages in which first stage is the JEE mains and second stage is the JEE advanced, so first you need to appear for the JEE mains and pass this stage to appear for the advanced stages. Since you have scored 72% marks in UP 10+2 board exams, you are eligible for the JEE mains exam conducted by CBSE as minimum qualification is that you must have done 10+2 with PCM subject group with minimum 45% marks in board exams. However if you have good marks in 10+2 it will help you obtain better rank in mains and advanced otherwise you need to obtain more marks in mains stages. |

>> As you have attain the 72% marks in your intermediate so you can apply for the exam as a person have the 60% marks minimum can apply for the exam. In this you have to be qualified in both the mains and advance JEE. >> The point to be noted is that the person should also be qualified individually in every subject in physics, chemistry and mathematics only then he will be eligible to apply for admission. |
