Eligibility for JEST 2016 exam


I want to appear in the jest exam 2016. And therefore regarding the same i want to confirm its eligibility details. So please do the needful.

JEST - Joint Entrance Screening Test conducted for admission in Ph.D course in Physics/Computer Science/Neuro Science.

JEST Eligibility
- You must have passed M.E/M.Tech in computer science or M.sc in Physics/Computer science/Neuro Science/Maths.
- No age restriction.
- No restriction on number of attemps.

If you have completed Masters degree in related discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for JEST 2016 exam.

JEST exam is conducted for Ph.D course.

For PhD Program in Physics:

For Theoretical Computer Science/Neurosciences/Computational Biology:

For Integrated M.Sc/M.Tech-PhD Program:

For Integrated M.Tech-PhD Program at IIA:

For Integrated PhD Program at IISER, Thiruvananthapuram:

There is no age criteria for JEST 2016 exam.

Important Dates for JEST 2016

Online Applications will be Available for Submission from 02nd November 2015

Last Date of Online Submission of Applications is 10th December 2015

JEST 2016 will be held on Sunday, 21st February 2016

JEST Join Entrance Screening Test is the screening test which is conducted for the recruitment of candidates for admission in Ph.d and integrated Ph.d programes in Physics or theoretical computer science or neuro science or computational biology in one of the participating institutes.

JEST Eligibility 2016:
  1. In order to join in Ph.d candidates who are done with Physics in M.Sc or M.E or M.Tech in the related discipines of study can appear for this Ph.d in Physics
  2. Candidates appearing for the theoretical computer science | Neuroscience | Computational Biology should done M.E | M.Tech | MCA | M.Sc in computer science and related subjects in order to appear for the JEST

As per my knowledge ,the minimum qualification required to appear in the JECA examination 2016 is graduation degree from recognised University in any discipline under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern with at least 55% marks with the subject of mathematics in degree level and for SC/ST 45 percent marks are enough.
The candidate who has degree other than computer science of Engineering should have at least 60% marks are eligible.
Age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years and relaxation is given to reserved categories in operational limit as per government rules.

Candidates who wants to appear in JEST 2016 examination should have completed graduation from approved university with at least 50% marks and 45% marks are required for reserved categories.
The candidate who has done graduation other than Engineering or computer science such as BCA,BA must have at least 60% in graduation.
Age limit should be in between 21 to 30 years.

Here, is the eligibility criteria of JEST exam.

There is no restriction on the number of times one can appear.
There is no restriction on age limit to appear in JEST examination.
The questions are based on the general syllabi of graduation and post graduation.
It is necessary to candidate to have valid email ID.
Test score is valid for 1 years.

Age Limit : No age restriction

Number of Attemps : No limit of attemps
