Dear Sir, I have done my 12th from Open Schooling. I want to join Indian Navy. So, am I eligible to join Indian Navy in this case? Please help me to know about this as soon as possible. Waiting for your response!

Yes, you can join Indian Navy after 12th, if you have completed 12th from Open Schooling.

Here, you will have to appear for NDA Exam that is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

In NDA exam, there are following wings to join Navy, Air Force, Army and Naval Academy.

You will have to give Navy and Naval Academy as your first and second preference to apply for Navy.

Then, apply for the entrance exam through UPSC Online Portal when application forms will be released.

There will be two stages to crack NDA exam:

• Written exam
• SSB Interview

NDA examination is conducted for selection as an officer in Indian Navy.

Candidates can also apply for technical entry after 12th.

The common eligibility to appear in both the examination is that candidate must have passed 12th from a recognised with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

The age limit is different for both the recruitment.

Candidates after qualifying in both examination are eligible for selection.

So, if you have passed 12th from a recognised open schooling board then you are eligible to appear in the examination.

National Defence Academy examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted twice in a year.

The examination is conducted for recruitment in defence services.

For recruitment in Navy the eligibility is that :-

Candidate must have passed or pursuing 12th from a recognised board.

Candidate must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years.

Only male candidates are eligible to appear in examination. Certificate from a recognised open university is acceptable.
