I am Sapna Mishra. I am pursuing masters in public health from Hyderabad central university. I want to do Phd in Environmental science. So i want to know whether I am eligible to apply for Phd in environmental science from osmania university. Please do answer my query and clear my doubt.

If you want to do Ph.D in environmental science from Osmania university then it is compulsory to have atleast 55% marks in post graduation degree for general category and 50% for sc/st category.

Masters in Public Health candidates are not eligible for Ph.D course in Environmental Science from Osmania University.

Those candidates who have completed Masters degree in Environmental Science with above 55% marks from a recognized University are eligible for Ph.D course in Environmental Science.

There is no age criteria.

After completion of your master's course , you are eligible to apply for Ph.D course in Environmental Science to Osmania University.

Hi, UGC has made UGC - NET mandatory to do Ph.D. You would need to qualify NET-Environmental Science . And appear for interview before a panel.

As per the correct scenario, PhD, NET mandatory for recruitment of university teachers from 2021–2022 academic year

New Delhi: In a new regulation that will be applicable from the academic session of 2021–2022, PhD has been made mandatory for recruitment of teachers in universities, apart from cracking the National Eligibility Test (NET). The rule, introduced in 2018, will be implemented this year.
From now, for the appointment to the post of Assistant professor, candidates will have to possess a PhD degree.

What was the criteria earlier:

Earlier, those with PhD degrees or qualified with NET masters degrees were eligible to apply for assistant professor, the entry-level position, in universities. During the appointment of Assistant Professors, a weightage of 5 to 10 marks was given to the candidates who passed the NET exam, while PhD candidates were given a weightage of 30 marks. This lead to tipping the scale against those who just cleared NET exams.
