Eligibility and qualification required to join Indian Navy?
How to join the Indian Navy? What is the qualification required for it? And, what is the eligibility criteria like age, weight, height etc.?

As you have not mentioned your qualifications so it is quite difficult to provide you exact details regarding different sorts on entries in Indian Navy. But for any idea I would like to let you know that to become a commissioned officer in Indian Navy you need to qualify either NDA ( National Defense Academy ) entrance examination or CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) entrance examination where as for joining Artificer and non artificer cadre of Indian Navy you need to qualify their respective recruitment rally followed Common Entrance Examination.

There are varies entry through which you will become eligible for recruitment in Indian Navy as an officer.
You will become eligible to enter into the service after qualifying in NDA, CDS etc as per your educational qualification. NDA :- 12th from a recognised board with PCM as main paper. The age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. CDS :- Bachelor degree in Technology or Bachelor in Engineering from a recognised university. The age limit is 19-22 years. Both the examination is conducted in two stages ( written and SSB ). The weight and height are related to each other as per BMI (Body Mass Index ). Eligibility criteria for Indian Navy are:-
Candidate have passed 12th standard with any stream. Candidate's age be under 16.5 years to 19 years. Nationality:- Citizen of India A subject of Bhutan A subject of Nepal Tibetan Refugee Marital Status:- Unmarried male (Tech Cadet) Physical requirements:- Good physical and mental health Disease, deformity and disability free A colour preception standard of CPII Height - 157 cms (minimum) Weight and Chest should be proportionate. |

To be eligible to join Indian Navy, you should have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects from a Government recognised board. You have to appear in UPSC NDA examination for joining in Indian Navy. You should be an unmarried male candidate and should be in the age range of 16.5 to 19.5 years to be eligible to apply for NDA examination for joining in Indian Navy.

Firstly percentage is not the criteria any 12th standard completed candidate can apply for the exam if he meets all the required physical conditions and he must and should belong to M.P.C group.This is the minimum educational qualification.
Coming to Physical requirements: For male :minimum height must be 157.5 cms for female : minimum height must be 152 cms and there must be weights proportionately. Your age should be in 16.5 years to 19 years and also men and Women must be unmarried. |

You can join Indian Navy after 12th standard itself through NDA exam.
However, you must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics as your primary subjects to join Indian Navy. NDA exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC. However, if you have completed graduation then you can apply for CDS exam. CDS Exam is also conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment to Indian Navy. To be eligible for CDS Exam, you must have completed graduation in any stream from recognized college. Also, you can appear for CDS if you are in final year of your graduation. |

You can apply for National Defense Academy Entrance examination after 10+2 to get into Indian Navy.
Eligibility: Academic Qualification:10+2 with science stream and PCM subjects. Age criteria is 16.5 to 19.5 years. Unmarried male candidate can apply for NDA entrance exam. Nationality: Indian |

For best jobs in Indian Navy, you can apply for National Defense Academy Entrance examination after 10+2. You should pursue your 10+2 with Science and PCM subjects and then apply for NDA exam and clear written test and Service Selection Board to join Indian Navy.
Age limit: 16.5 to 19.5 years. Nationality: Indian Only unmarried male candidates can apply for this exam. |

You can join Indian Navy after qualifying in NDA ( educational qualification - 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ) and CDS ( educational qualification - B.Tech or B.E )
The age limit for NDA is 16.5-19.5 years and for CDS ( Navy ) - 19-23 years. The examination is conducted in two stages Written and Service Selection Board. You have to qualify in written to become eligible for SSB. So, you can appear in examination as per your qualification. The above examination are for recruitment as an officer. There are many ways to join Indian Navy as officers and sailors.
- You must have completed class 12th from a recognised board with science stream if you have to appear in NDA (National Defence Academy) examination conducted by UPSC. - You can join as sailor after class 12th in any stream from a recognised board through recruitments by Indian Navy. - Physical Standards for Sailors : Height : Must not be less than 152cm if you are 15 years old. Weight : Must not be less than 43kg if you are 15 years old and in proportion to the height. Eye : 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other and must be free from colourblindness. - Physical Standards for Officers : Age : Should not be less than 18. Weight : Should not be less than 55kg. Height : Should not be less than 162.5cm |
