The Pattern of SAIL MT and ONGC GT recruitment exams are as under;

SAIL
Objective Type Written Test
The written test will comprise of questions from
Technical (i.e., Core Mechanical Engineering Papers)
General Aptitude (Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness & English)

ONGC
There will be two papers in Written Test
i) General Awareness
ii) Subject/Specialization Concerned
The test paper will include both Objective and Subjective types of question.

Exam pattern of ONGC and SAIL for Mechanical Engineering is given below

1.all question will be M.C.Q type.

2.there will be four option in every question.

the over all question can be devided in to three parts

>Technical part.

>Aptitude.

>GK.

etc.

All question are objective based

GENERAL AWRENESS:-
objective - 50 question
descriptive - 40 question

Subjective specilization:-
objective - 75 question
Descriptive - 2question

all degree engineering student can apply for this ONGC post..........

SAIL Exam pattern

This Exam pattern Keeps changing every year but syllabus is more or less fixed

Normally Time Allowed : 2 :25 hours

Exam Questions classification

Reasoning – 45 marks

Quantitative Aptitude- 35 marks

General Awareness- 35 marks

English Language- 35 marks

Technical Paper (Engineering )-100 marks.

ONGC Exam Pattern

:

ONGC has not elaborated anything on what would be the pattern of the written test other than just specifying that it would consist of two papers: General Awareness & Subject Specialization with Objective/Descriptive questions. It does not say anything about how many questions are likely to be asked in each paper and what would be the mark distribution.

So based on the exam experiences of candidates who had appeared in the previous years ONGC GT exam, I found following is the pattern of ONGC GT written test. This may vary with the question/marks in the actual exam you are going to face.

There are two papers in the ONGC GT written test –
i) General Awareness paper– common to all
ii) Specialization subject paper – specific to your subject.
