I am a post graduate student of CCS university .. I am just in 2nd year . I know that ugc net is conducted twice a year. So am I eligible of giving this December 2016 exam ? My pg will b completed in 2016 June approx.?

NET stands for National Eligibility Test. This exam is conducted by University Grants Commission. In order to appear for this exam, a candidate must have passed master's degree from a recognized university.

Final year candidates of post graduation are also eligible for exam but the important dates for UGC NET December 2015 exam is already over. You can apply for coming NET exam in June, 2016.

The minimum percentage of marks required to be eligible for NET exam is 55% in master's degree. For OBC, SC/ST candidate it is 50%. Upper age limit for JRF is 28 years. There is no age limit for lectureship.

The last date for applying online for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is over now. You can not apply for December exam now.

You will be able to apply for upcoming UGC NET exam in June, 2016 and meanwhile your master's degree will be also completed at that time.

Make sure that you have at least 55% marks in master's degree if you belong to general category and 50% if you belong to SC/ST category.

You are a final year candidate of post graduation degree so you are eligible for UGC NET exam December 2016 for JRF post.

Educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.

UGC NET Examination is one of the Entrance test to the professors or the lecturers and they will be giving the admission in to the PH.d Course of study and candidates who are wishing to take the admission in the Ph.d or the Masters in the Philosophy must take this admission test of NET examination

As you are of the post graduate finale year graduate you can apply for the NET examination,and candidates who are awaiting for the results are also eligible to appear for the NET examination.

Basic Eligibility Criteria for NET Examination:

1. Candidates must have not exceeded the 28 years of age limit and the upper age limits are as per the government specifications mentioned such as the OBC|SC|ST|PH categories are given the upper age limits of up to 5 years
2. Should have done the post graduation in respsective disciplines in order to appear for the NET examination
3. Finale year graduates who are awaiting for the results are also eligible to appear for the NET examination

Yes, you are eligible for appearing in NET 2016 Exam but only if you will be securing 55% in your Master course.

If your percentage is less than the defined criteria of 55%, then you cannot apply for JRF NET Exam.

However, 5% relaxation in marks is given to SC/ST/PWD applicants.

Age Criteria:

For Lectureship: No Age Limit

For JRF: 19-28 years

5 years relaxation in age is provided to OBC/SC/ST/Women Candidates.
