I think you are Quite confused ! Dont think so much, just enroll for B.sc (Nautical Science). After completeing that you will be Graduate and can easily get into Merchant Navy also. After getting B.sc (Nautical science) degree which is 3 years long regular classroom course just like any other B.sc, after that you will be able to join Merchant Navy as a Junior Officer. Better to persue it from a good institute which has Campusing facility, other wise you have struggle for getting job. Best of luck |

No need to do the graduation and the nautical science course separately, since there is B.Sc in Nautical science is available which is of great demand and you can opt for the same in any of the reputed institutes like Vel's University in Chennai which offers the course along with the Pre-sea training. The advantage is, you can get the job easily after your graduation with high pay and the disadvantage of this course is the fees structure, which is little bit high than the other courses in the degree. All the Best !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Graduation after completing nautical sciences course?
Hello friend,
After successful completion of the course, you will be a Nautical science graduate. So, once you have done it you dont need to pursue any other bachelors programme. If you have made up your mind to join Merchant Navy, simply go for BSc in Nautical science and you will be eligible to join merchant navy as Deck Cadet. Later, you may appear for the examination conducted by The Directorate General of Shipping for further promotion. |
