Which group should i choose after ssc to become an ias officer? What age and qualifications are recquired for it and which subject is most important in this ambition?

If you look at the syllabus of IAS examination then you will come to know that General Studies carries more marks compare to optional subjects.
Any discipline students are eligible for IAS examination. You can opt for any stream in your 10+2 because the basic qualification for IAS is Graduation in any discipline. You can opt for Science stream because it will make you eligible for many other jobs other than IAS preparation. Also Science questions are very important in Civil Services examination. Age limit for IAS: General Category - 21 to 30 years OBC Category - 21 to 33 years SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years Selection Procedure: -Preliminary Exam - Objective Type -Mains Exam - Descriptive Type Paper with 2 optional papers -Interview or Personality Test The number of attempts is limited for General and OBC with 4 and 7 attempts respectively.
