This being a competitive exam certainly a lot of effort needs to be put in to clear the same. You will need to be sound at the conceptual level. You can appear for the exam if you are a graduate. Also your age should be more than 21 years and less than 30 years. There are some relaxations if you belong to the SC/ST category. You will need to clear all the level i.e. CSAT, mains, interview and also the physical fitness round.

(i) Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011 (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. To become IAS officer a Degree completed 21 years age candidate has to apply for CSE(Civil services Examination) which is conducted by UPSC(Union public service commission) this UPSC is a govt body which is committed to recruit the top brains of India to place them in high positions like IAS/IPS/IFS etc., which are shortly called as civil services
As this is a central Govt job competition for this very heavy so this is the reason why it is so rigor to get into Administrative services. To become an IAS officer you must clear an exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission of INDIA.
To appear for that exam you must have certain eligibility conditions. The following is the list of eligibility requirements. 1. The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. 2. The candidate's age must be greater than 21yrs and lesser than 30yrs.(Some relaxations are also there) 3. The candidate must be a graduate. |

sir , you must have complete your graduation with any stream. and also within the age limit of 21-30. sc\st candidate have some relaxation in this .in this exam there are three round first CSAT . mains then interview.

for appearing in this exam you must have to complete your graduation on any stream.
the age limit exist foe this exam is 21-30 years as a general candidates. also there are5 & 3 years relaxation for SC\ST & OBC candidates. this exam is conducted by UPSC every year. no.of attempt- for a general candidate-4 times for a SC\ST candidates- no such restriction for a OBC candidates- 7 times. |

For entering the Indian Administrative Services, you need to clear the UPSC Civil Services exams.
The basic eligibility is :- 1) Citizen of India 2) Holder of a valid degree from a recognized university. 3)Must be 21-30 years of age. This is a three-phased exam- prelims, mains, interview. To become a IAS officer,you should qualify the Civil Service exam,which includes Preliminary exam, main exam and followed by interview.If you over come all this test,then you will become a IAS officer.

The main requirment is you should have complete your becholor degree.IES exam is only for some core branches.Only some branch student can give the IES exam.
These are some branch engineer who are eligible for IES exam. Electrical engineering Mechenical engineering Electronics and communication Civil engineering Its very good opportunity to get a govt. job with the help of IES exam. So all the best. |

The Age Limits for the Civil Services
Age Limit: Not less than 21 years and exceeding 30 years as on 01 August 2012. Upper age limit will be relaxed for reserve category as per rule of Government. Academic Qualifications: Only those candidates can go to apply for UPSC Civil Service Examination 2012 who are Graduate or equivalent degree holder by a recognized University or Institute. Number of Attempts: Four Attempts are permitted to the candidates for applying for this Exam. There is no limitation of attempts for Schedule Class and Schedule Tribes and Physically handicapped Candidates whereas other backward class are permitted to avail 7. UR – 4 Attempts OBC – 7 Attempts SC / ST PH – No limitation Preliminary Examination: Civil Services 2012 Preliminary Examination will consist Two Papers having 200 Marks each, for which time duration of 2 hours will be allotted. IAS stands for Indian Adminstrtive Service.
IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC once in a year. Eligibility criteria: the candidate should be citizen of india. The candidate should be complete graduation from any recognized university. The candidate age limit should be 21 to 30 years, the age relaxation for obc candidates is 3 years and the sc/st candidates is 5 years.
