IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.

To become IAS Officer you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination (CSE), This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.

You not need to scored any minimum percentage of marks in your graduation to apply for this examination. To pass in Graduation is Enough to apply for CSE. To apply for this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years, upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

The examination is conducted in 2 stages, preliminary examination and Main examination. But firstly you have to cracked the preliminary examination, there are 2 papers in this examination and all are objective. If you cracked this examination, then you are eligible for Main examination.

Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the subjects for Main examination on the basis of your graduation. The list of subjects is available in the official website. You have to choose according to your Graduation only.

So, please complete your Graduation first in any discipline and then apply for this examination and for more information check official website.

There will be a total of 9 papers. You will have to choose the subjects according to it.

Paper 1 - in the VIIIth Schedule to the Constitution 18 languages have been specified . You will have to choose 1 language out of these 18 languages and Paper will be based on it. THis paper will be of 300 marks. it is a qualifying paper. The time allotted for this paper will be 2 hours.

Paper 2 It is also a qualifying paper of English Language. This paper will be of 300 marks. The time allotted for this paper will be 2 hours.

Paper 3 It will be of 200 marks on essay writing

Paper 4 and 5 These 2 papers will be of 300 marks each for these you will have to prepare general studies.

Paper 6,7,8 and 9 - The candidate will have to select 2 subjects from the following list of optional subject. There will be 2 papers for each subject of 300 marks each

there are three type in IAS
1. Preliminary examinations

The prelims are held around May-June.It has objective ie multiple choice questions. There are two papers (duration of each being 2 hrs).

a) General studies
b) Optional subject

2. Main examination

candidate who apply for this examination will secured bachelor degree with 60% marks

IAS indian administrative service.this exam conduct by upsc.
The exam will be held in 2 parts.

[Prelims this hr also know as the]
1. Civil service aplitude test which test your basic generally knowledge and current affair. [/B]
2. Main if you clear the prelims them you will be eligible for the main which will test your graduation knowledge an 9 paper.

Paper 1 indian all 18 lunguage,
Paper 2 english,
Paper 3 essassy,
Paper 4+5 general studies,
Paper 6-9 (any choice two paper for candidate)
And last interview test.

Optional subject.

To get into IAS you need to qualify Civil service examination conducted by UPSC..you need to complete your graduation with in any dicipline(no specific subject required).your age limit shall be 21 to 30years(relaxable upto 5 years for sc/st and upto 3 years for obc).

IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) only one time in a year.


Eligibility details:-

The candidate must have to complete graduation or any equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Candidate must be a citizen of india.

No specific percentage is required to be eligible for this exam.

For OBC candidates-- 21 to 33years,

For SC/ST candidates-- 21 to 35 years.

It is a long process to become an IAS officer . The Paper that you need to qualify are as follows :-

Paper I :- will be of Language in which you have to choose 1 language out of 18 mentioned language and it is mandatory to pass this paper

Paper II :- This paper will be of English Language. It is also mandatory to clear this paper

Paper III :- Essay writing paper will be the third paper

Paper IV and V :- Will be of general studies

Paper VI to IX :- Here the candidate has to select two paper from a list of subject which is as follows :-

There are vast list of subjects available in the Civil Services Exam.

It is tough to tell which subjects to choose as it all depends on the type of subject you are interested in.

If you are interested in the subjects like:

Maths

Physics

Zoology

Statistics

Chemistry

And any other subject you can go for selecting the subject in the exam.

You can choose any subjects of your choice as the eligibility for the exam is:

*You have passed graduation from recognized university.

*Age limit 21-30 yrs..

You can also opt for B.Sc in your stream if no other option.

then first you can crack for Civil Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones...............

IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country.

India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment.

Hey,selecting subjects should be done by you but not by us. IAS is not a easy exam selecting subjects will not affect its toughness by any way.It will be as difficult as it is ok.
