Being an SC candidate, you can expect relaxation in GATE score (cut off score mentioned). Cut off score may vary with subjects. Such details can be collected from IIT portal. Also SC candidates are offered with reduction in fees. Selection will be done on grounds of GATE score and interview. 70% weightage will be given for GATE score and 30% for interview.

To appear for the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam after completing your B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, you need to follow these steps:

Understand the eligibility criteria: Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria set by the GATE conducting authority. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the eligibility criteria include having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture or a postgraduate degree in Science/Mathematics or equivalent. Check the official GATE website for the most up-to-date eligibility criteria.

Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and syllabus: GATE is a computer-based exam that tests your understanding of various subjects in engineering and science. It is important to review the exam pattern, marking scheme, and syllabus provided on the official GATE website. This will help you understand the structure of the exam and the topics you need to prepare.

Registration for the exam: Visit the official GATE website during the registration period to complete the online registration process. Provide the required information, including personal details, educational qualifications, and the choice of exam center. Pay the application fee as specified on the website. Keep track of important dates for registration, fee payment, and other deadlines.

Prepare for the exam: GATE requires comprehensive preparation to perform well. Create a study plan that covers all the subjects and topics included in the GATE syllabus for Computer Science Engineering. Use textbooks, reference materials, online resources, and previous years' question papers for your preparation. Practice solving questions to enhance your speed and accuracy.

Mock tests and self-assessment: Take advantage of the mock tests available on the official GATE website or other online platforms. Mock tests help you become familiar with the exam interface, manage time effectively, and assess your preparation level. Analyze your performance in the mock tests and identify areas that need improvement.

Admit card and exam day: Download the GATE admit card from the official website within the specified timeframe. Carry a printout of the admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam center on the day of the exam. Follow the instructions provided in the admit card and reach the exam center well in advance.

Result and scorecard: After the exam, GATE results are typically announced on the official website. You can download the GATE scorecard from the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal. The scorecard is valid for a specific period and can be used for admission to postgraduate programs in various institutes/universities.
