You need to qualify NET to join as Asst Professor. For attending this exam, you need to have at least 55% marks in M.Tech. The exam is conducted by UGC two times in a year. After qualifying NET, you can apply for the job through the official portal of the concerned college. Asst Professors are offered with UGC scale salary which amounts up to Rs. 40,000/- per month.

In order to become a Assistant Professor in Government colleges ,you will have to appear in UGC-NET Exam.
Through this Exam,you will have to apply for LECTURERSHIP Post.

In order to appear in this Exam,you will require the following Eligibility:-

Educational Qualification:-

>>Your must be passed out in your M.TECH from Recognized university.
>>Your degree should be approved from the AICTE.

Marks:-
>>In order to appear in this exam, your minimum marks should be 55%.

Age:-
>>In order to appear in this Exam for this Post there is NO AGE LIMIT.
Syllabus:-
There will be 3 papers from which the questions are asked.
Its details are as follows:-

Paper 1:-It will contain 60 questions. You will have to attempt only 50.
Total marks of this exam will be 100.
Total time duration for this exam will be 1 hours and 20 minutes.

Paper 2:-It will contain 50 questions. All questions are compulsory.
Total marks of this exam will be 100.
Total time duration for this exam will be 1 hours and 20 minutes.
Paper 3:-It will contain 75 questions. All questions are compulsory.
Total marks of this exam will be 150.
Total time duration for this exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

I also want to know about the syllabus of M.E. Mechanical Engg for NET exam, which I could not obtain from ugc website (ugcnetonline.in). In fact, I could not find the link were I could see syllabus and prev question papers.
