Re: How can I become a police officer?
The minimum qualification to become a Police Officer is Graduation in any stream within the age of 21 to 30 years.
You have not stated for which Police Officer you are interested, however you can join State Police Service or IPS(Indian Police Service) coming under Central Govt. For State Police Service you have to appear for the exam conducted by respective State Public Service Commission every year. For Central Police Service i.e. IPS you have to appear and crack the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year. The selection of State Police Service though written test followed by personal Interview and there are certain prescribed Physical standard to be met. The selection of Central Police Service is through Civil Service exam which is done in three phases:- CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test-Preliminary exam Civil Service Main exam Personal Interview For more information you may log on to official web site of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in and State Public Service Commission website |
