IPS Exam provides candidates to join in as Police officer and this exam is being conducted by UPSC every year and there are criteria's which are needed to be satisfied along with it such as Nationality,Age limit and education qualification.

To tell in detail about these criteria's it is that:

# The Nationality standard needed for the exam is that the candidate should have a Citizenship in India

# The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate should have 21-30 years for General category candidate and for SC/ST it is 5 years extra and for OBC it is 3 years extra

# Education qualification needed for the exam is that the candidate should have completed a Degree from a recognized university.

As you have asked for the information regarding the Eye sight standard refer below:

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

If you satisfy all the above criteria's needed for the exam then you can apply for the exam. For more info check at http://www.upsc.gov.in
