NIT stands for National Institute of Technology and it is highly rated government engineering college for B.tech course after IITs. There are 28 NITs in across different parts of India.

To get admitted in the NIT one has to clear Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE ) held by the CBSE once every year. The JEE is held in two stages which are called as JEE Mains and JEE Advance.

To get admission in the NIT one must has to clear the JEE Mains examination together with high percentage of marks in their board examination as there weightage in final merit list for admission in the NITs are 40%.

The general qualification marks for JEE Mains lies around 120 marks out of 360 marks till now but to guarantee a top NIT with best trade you must secure anything around 200 marks along with percentage at least over 80%.
