To join IIT, you have to write IIT Main and Advanced exams. If you clear IIT Main then only you can sit for Advanced.
Although selection is very tough, approx 4-5 L students appear for this exam, only 9000 are selected finally. At present, there are 15 IITs. You can take coaching for this exam, there are numerous coaching institutes for this exam. Some popular ones are FIITJEE, Bansal Classes, Allen, Resonance etc. Coaching course is for two years, you can join for weekend or regular course. One year programs are for 12th passed students. You have only two chance to appear for this exam. Exam is conducted in April/May. |
