If you have completed your bachelor's degree in physiotherapy, you have following options to join Indian Army:

1. Combined Defense Services:

Any candidate who has done bachelor's degree in any stream is eligible to apply for the Combined Defense Services. Even final year candidates can apply for the course.

But for Indian Air force and Indian Navy, mathematics and physics at 10+2 level is necessary.

Age limits for different academies under CDS:

1. Indian Military academy: 19-24 years.

2. Officer's Training academy: 19-25 years.

3. Indian Navy academy: 19-22 years.

4. Air Force academy: 19-23 years.

Both unmarried male and female candidates can apply for the exam.

Candidates are selected by the Written test and Service Selection Board. Physical fitness is necessary.

For more details, you can visit www.upsc.gov.in.

The second option to join Indian army as a physiotherapist is by cracking the entrance exam conducted every year by Armed Force Medical college. The upper age limit is 25 years for this exam. Only unmarried candidates can apply for the AFMC entrance exam.

Hello Kavita,

There are only two ways through which you can join Indian Army being a Physiotherapist. These are :

1) Combined Defense Services Examination

2) Armed Forces Medical College Examination

By clearing the Combined Defense Services Examination, you can join the Indian Militant Academy as an Army Officer and serve our nation.

This Examination is conducted twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

The Eligibility Criteria for Combined Defense Services Examination are :

>> You must have secured a Bachelor`s degree in any stream from any recognized university.

>> Your age must lie in between 19-24 years.

>> You must be a citizen of India.

>> You must be unmarried.

>> You must have maintained a good physical and mental status.

Or, You can join Indian Army through the Armed Forces Medical College Test which requires the same educational qualifications from the candidates.

The age required for AFMC Test is 19-25 years.

This is the information I have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.
