To become a Indian Army officer,then you should appear for NDA/CDS exam,this two exam are conducted by UPSC every year,to take qualified students into different defense service like Indian Army,Indian Air Force and Indian Navy.
Details about NDA exam: Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam: Education qualification: For Indian Air Force/Indian Navy:You should complete 12th class with PCM stream. For Indian Army:You should have complete 12th class with any stream from a recognized university. Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. NDA-I and NDA-II exam are conducted twice in year, because the person who was not able to attend for NDA-I exam, he can apply for NDA-II exam in the same year, without having gap between the education. NDA-I exam notification for this year: Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012. Exam will held on 15th April 2012. NDA-II exam notification for this year: Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012. Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012. Details about CDS exam: Eligibility criteria for CDS exam: Educational Qualifications: For Indian Army : You should have a degree from a recognized University or equivalent. For Indian Navy: You should have complete B.Sc. with Physics and/or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering. For Indian Air Force: You should have complete B.Sc. of a recognized University or equivalent with Physics and/or Mathematics as subjects or Bachelor of Engineering. Age: For Indian Army (Unmarried male):Your age should be between 19-24 years For Indian Navy (Unmarried male):Your age should be betweeb 19-22 years For Indian Air Force (Unmarried male):Your age should be between 19-23 years CDS-I exam: Issuing of application form from 29th Oct 2011 to 28th Nov 2011. Exam will held on 12th Feb 2012. CDS-II exam: Issuing of application form from 2nd June 2012 to 2nd July 2012. Exam will held on 16th Sep 2012. This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India. It is restricted to boys between the ages of 16 1/2 and 19. The months of commencement of the course each year is January and July. Applications are to be sent in response to the advertisement which will be published in leading newspapers during March /April. NDA exam conducted by UPSC is based on the CBSE syllabus. Graduates (Direct Entry) The UPSC holds an all-India competitive examination, known as the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE), twice a year for University graduates or equivalent. Successful candidates can join Indian Military Academy for their pre- commission training after the interview conducted by the Service Selection Board and if finally selected, depending on their merit list ranking, are sent to Indian Military Academy. Candidate should be in the age of 19-24. Engineering Graduates (Direct Entry) An Engineering graduate can join the Indian Military Academy directly. They only need to attend the Service Selection Board interview. Age at the time of joining should be between 20-27 years. |

You can join Indian Army through CDSE exam.So you can apply for CDSE exam. COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAM(CDSE) This exam is conducted by UPSC in every year. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Those candidate are completed graduation are eligible for CDSE exam but 12 standard subject must be Math and Physics. B-TECH ans BE student are also eligible for this exam .But you have not any Pending Backlog. Final Year student are also eligible for CDSE exam.There is no percentage marks criteria. AGE CRITERIA Indian Military Academy - 19-24 Years Air Force Academy - 19-23 Years Naval Academy - 19-22 Years Officer's Training Academy - 19-25 Years MARITAL STATUS Only Unmarried persons are eligible NATIONALITY You must have citizenship from India. GENDER Only male candidate are eligible. ADVERTISEMENT SCHEDULE April and September Every Year SCHEME OF EXAMINATION FOR CDS 2012 Indian Military Academy / Naval Academy / Air Force Academy All the papers are of objective type. You need to appear and qualify a national level test which is conducted by UPSC ( Admissions are conducted twice a year.)
NDA (National defense academy) test details are: *Candidates who have cleared 10+2 and those who are currently doing can apply. *Those who had taken Physics & Mathematics in Class 12th can apply for navy and air force. *Candidates appearing for the exam must be bachelors .They must be between16 1/2 to 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam. *Any candidate whose height is not within157.5cms to 162.5cms cannot apply for Air Force wing. Candidates whose chest is less than 81cms cannot apply. Candidates should have proper eye-sight. They should not be overweight or under weight. |

My friend you have not mentioned about your qualification, so it will be difficult for us to suggest you. If you have done 12th, then you can go for NDA exam to join in defense.. Eligibility for NDA exam:- For Army wing:- 1.Candidate must have complete the 12th in any trade. 2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years. 3.Candidate must be a citizen of India. If you have completed graduation then you can go for CDS exam.. Eligibility for CDS exam:- For Indian Military academy:- 1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade. 2.Candidate must be a citizen of India. 3.Age should be in between 19-24 years. These are exams through which you can join in Army as officer.. All the best. |

In order to join the army through the CDS Exam..you need to fulfill the following criterion.. 1) You should be a graduate in any stream from a recognized college in India.. 2) You should be within the age limit of 19-24 years to join the Indian Military Academy The CDS exam is held twice every year in the months of February and September.. The next CDS exam is going to be held on 12th February,2012 but unfortunately the last date to submit the forms has gone by so you can sit for the other CDS exam which is going to be conducted on 16th September,2012 The forms shall be out 2nd June,2012 and the last date for form submission is 2nd July,2012.. If you want to become Army officer then you can apply after passing the 12th. For this you have to have to qualify the N.D.A exam. N.D.A. Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice. Eligibility criteria for N.D.A exam:- > Pass 12th with any stream from recognized board. > Age limit should be above 16.5year and below 19 year. > Must be citizen of India > Medically fit (no major surgery) There are three stages of selection:- > Written Exam > Interview > Medical exam GOOD LUCK! |

NDA - National Defence Academy entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA. The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental Fitness. CDS - Combined Defence Service, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Military Academy, naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy. The eligible candidate wishing to join Indian Army of CDS, must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for the final Graduation degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical and Mental health.
