For that you have two choices.
1. Qualifing GATE exam and apply for P.hd. in IIT or
2. Qualifing PET exam, which is specially for P.hd. student.
these are the two ways to go in the research side.

Dear friend,

You can start your research career in any of the topic in physics you have interest.

Apply for Phd and research works in the top universities in India and as well as in abroad.

There are various interesting fields in physics like particle study, space physics, astro physics etc.

You can apply for the research program in the reputed institutes like IISc, Bangalore, IITs.

There are also private institutes like Saha Institute of Technology and physics research center, Kolkata, where you can apply.

So go for it as you have keen interest in it.

All the best!!

hi friend,

Since you have done your Master degree in the physics subject hence you can even apply in top institutes for the post of 'research scholar' or 'research associate' or 'scientist' post.
Many institutes namely TIFR: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research or Homi bhabha centre for science conducts such posts . You can also apply in astrophysics institutes like Indian Institute of Astrophysics , banglore as a research fellow.
