Hello,

students who want to pursue doctoral research in medical physics at columbia must apply for admission to the doctoral program in the department of applied physics and applied mathematics.

A ph.d. With a specialization in medical physics is appropriate if you want to pursue research in an academic/hospital environment. While it may also enhance your opportunities for a career in a strictly clinical setting, it is not essential to securing an entry-level position in medical physics.

If you apply for the ph.d. Program but would also like to be considered for the stand-alone m.s. Program, this should be clearly indicated in your personal statement.

Good luck…
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
