Hey friend,

You cannot join in Indian Military Academy with having only passing +2 as you are not satisfying the needed education qualification for joining in thsi force.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy

You need to write the entrance exam for joining in IMA as the exam which you need to write is the CDS Exam (Combined Defence Service)

This exam is one of the defence service exam and this exam is conducted by UPSC and is held every year and held as CDS I and CDS II.

Education Qualification Needed:

The education qualification needed for joining in IMA by writing the CDS exam is that you need to have completed a degree with a fair percentage.

It is better that you need to have completed a degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a fair percentage as per the education qualification.

There are certain other criteria's which are needed to be satisfied along with the education qualification and they include such as:

>> Nationality

>> Martial Status

>> Age Limit

>> Physical Standard

The candidate should be a citizen of India and must be a unmarried male candidate.The age limit needed for joining in IMA is that you need to have 19-24 years.You need to be physically fit while appearing for the CDS Exam


You need to satisfy all these above mentioned criteria's inorder to apply for the CDS Exam

You can join the IMA after completion of graduation as University entry scheme and technical entry scheme. You need to finish your graduation for getting into IMA Dehradun. You can join the Technical Entry scheme and university entry scheme. You can also join Indian Military Academy or Officers Training Academy after completion of graduation. There are medical and physical standards to be met for joining the Indian Army. Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the higher secondary examination and atleast, have 40% in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English. During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age. There will be a compulsory paper of Mathematics in the NDA Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
