Candidates may join Indian Military Academy (IMA) through any of the following modes of entry:

Combined Defense Service Exam
Technical Graduate Course

Combined Defense Service Examination

• Minimum Academic Qualification: Bachelors Degree in any discipline.
• Minimum Eligible Age: 19 years
• Maximum Age Limit: 24 years

Combined Defense Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice a year and the notification regarding the same is published on the official website of the Commission.

Technical Graduate Course

• Minimum Academic Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technology.
• Minimum Eligible Age: 20 years
• Maximum Age Limit: 27 years

To join IMA after completing your B.Tech you can apply for the CDS exam.
CDS stand for Combined Defence Services this exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. this exam is only for Graduate candidate

To apply for this exam you will have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- You must have completed your graduation from a recognized university.
- Your age must be between 19 to 25 years...
- You should not have any diseases.
- You must physically and mentally fit and unmarried..
- You must be a citizen of India...
- You should not be involved in any criminal cases..

After passing BE/Btech one can join IMA through Technical Graduate Course.The duration of the training is 1 year.Look out for the advertisement published in leading newspapers/employment news in May/june and Nov/dec every year.(or)
University entrance scheme apply for this when you are in pre-final year of engineering.(or) after completing post graduation also one can join IMA through Army education corp(AEC) TGC where they recruit twice a year in may/june and nov/dec
