After completing 12th exam , you are eligible to apply for Indian Army .

You can apply for Indian Army through NDA Exam and TES .

NDA Eligibility (Army):-

You must have a completed your Higher Secondary Level (12th) with any discipline of a recognized School or equivalent qualification and No percentage bar required for NDA exam .

Those who are appearing in the final year of 12th exam can also eligible to apply for this examination . But candidate have to submit the 12th exam Certificate or Bonafide Certificate before the SSB Interview .

Age should be between 16.5 years and 19 years and there is no relaxation for this examination and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply this examination .

NDA II Last date for receipt of application on 04/06/12 and the examination will be held on 19/08/12 .

TES Eligibility (Army) :-

You must have a completed your Higher Secondary Level (12th) with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of a recognized School or equivalent qualification and you must secure at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics in their examination .

Age should be between 16.5 years and 19 1/2 years and there is no relaxation for this examination and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply this examination . You must be Indian National .

TES online application was already started on 22/05/12 and Last date for receipt of application on 02/07/12 .

IMA Stands for Indian Military Academy Examination .

Eligibility Criteria ( IMA ) :-

~~You must have a completed graduate degree with any stream of a recognized University and No specific percentage bar required for this examination .

~~Age should be between 19 years and 24 years .

You can apply for IMA exam through CDS exam . After completing graduate degree .

I am sorry but you are not yet eligible for Indian Military Academy direct Entry.



Eligibility Criteria for IMA (DE)

- Only unmarried candidate are eligible for it
- candidate must have passed Graduation from Recognised University
- It is conducted twice with 250 vacancies each time. the training starts in January and July So the age of the candidate must be between 19 and 24 years as on 1 January or on 1 July

But After completing your Graduation you can apply for it. The notification is out in May/Jun and Nov/Dec and the selection will be in Jul to Aug and Mar / Apr.

And After completing you graduation you will another option of joining Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai, It is a 49 weeks training which starts in Apr and Oct as it is also held twice in an year

But if you want to join Indian army immediately after intermediate then you have only 2 options.
1) National Defense Academy (NDA)- For this the age of the candidate must be 16.5-19. Likely SSB Date is Sep to Oct and Jan to Apr and the training starts in January and July. 3 years of your Training will be at NDA , Khadakwasla, Pune and 1 year will be at IMA , Dehradun

2)10+2 TES- For this the age of the candidate must be 16.5-19.5. Likely SSB Date is Sep to Oct and Jan to Apr and the training starts in January and July. But the Training Academy is OTA Gaya.

So for joining IMA either complete your Graduation and apply for 18 months training at IMA or join NDA and last year of your training will be at IMA.

1. A candidate should have completed their graduation with atleast 50% from Recognized Universities
   
   
2. Citizenship of INDIA.

After 12th you can apply for NDA to join Indian Army. Here are the eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should complete the 12th standard from any recognized state board of india.

There is no minimum percentage required to eligible.

The science stream candidates are eligible for the indian air force and navy.

Age limit:

the applicant age limit should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

There is no age criteria for other categories.

Nationality:

The applicant should be citizen of india.

Gender:

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this exam.

Girls are not eligible for this exam.

For joining Indian Military Academy you must be a Graduate and have to apply for CDS Examination which is conducted by UPSC.

The age limit for joining IMA is between 19 to 24 years.

As you are a 12th pass student hence you can apply for NDA Examination which is conducted by UPSC every year two times.

The age limit for NDA examination is between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be an unmarried male.

The selection will be based on the written examination, SSB and medical examination.

After clearing NDA Examination you will join National Defence Academy and complete you Graduation from there and after Graduation you will undergo training to become an officer in Indian Army.

So be prepared for NDA Examination if you want to join Indian Army as officer.

Otherwise you can take admission in Graduation and after completion apply for CDS Examination.

To join IMA you have to appear in the UPSC conducted CDS exams.
CDS exams are held two times in a year.

Next CDS exams will be held on 8th Sep 2013
Notification will come out on 25th May 2013

I am a student of class 10, I am 10 days away before i choose my stream for my 11th class.
My ambition has always been to serve the country (by joining the army/navy/air-force)
My biggest fear for now is if i join the humanities stream for my 11th, if i will be able to join the army in future.
So my question is if i can join the army with with choice of humanities group in my 11th grade.

After 12th you can join Indian Army through NDA exam. NDA exam is conducted for Joining in Indian defence for Intermediate passed candidates.

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC twice in every year.

NDA exam is conducted for following wings of Indian Defence-
1. Naval Wing
2. Air Force Wing
3. Army wing

Eligibility Criteria for Different wing-

1. Only unmarried male candidates can apply.

2. for Naval and Air Force wing you are required to complete 12th with science subjects like Maths and Physics.
3. for Army Wing you need 12th in any stream from recognized college or University.


4. Age- Your age should be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

You can fill up the form available at WWW.INDIANARMY.COM / any equivalent indian army official site.
Give each and every information wanted , and then after that you will short listed and directly called for SSB
