Technical Officers : Electronics Stream The Indian Air Force holds some of the most sophisticated aircraft and equipment on its inventory.This highly complex and most advanced technological hardware requires an equally skilled and motivated engineering staff to maintain them at the highest level of operati- onal readiness. The Engineering Staff, has under their ambit, a formidable array of responsibility which apart from the aircraft, also include the weapon systems, communication systems, the missile systems and a variety of modern radars and support equip- ment. They also maintain one of the most sophisticated and advanced electronic network which is necessary to keep the IAF in operational readi- ness. To manage the entire gamut of resources calls for mana- gerial skill of the highest order. An Engineer who enters the Air Force as a Flying Officer has his baptism by fire since he is directed headlong into the challenging world of engineering activities.
MODE OF ENTRY

DIRECT ENTRY SCHEME

Age Limit :- 18 to 28 years

Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics)
(Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission)

Engineering Degree in Electronics/ Telecommunications/ Electrical/ Electrical Communication/ Electronics and Communication/ Computer Science & Engineering
or a combination of these subjects

B Tech in Radio Physics and Electronics of Calcutta University OR
B Sc Physics with Electronics of Bombay University OR
M Sc Electronics of Delhi, Bangalore, Madras, Gujarat, Lucknow or Calcutta

Advertisement Itinerary :- Applications are called for twice a year in the month of January and July through advertisement published in the leading newspapers/
Employment News.


Entrance :- Through Psychological Tests, Group Tests and an Interview conducted
at any one of the Air Force Selection Boards located at Dehradun, Mysore or Varanasi
for a period of 4 to 6 days at our cost. Prior to attending the AFSB tests a Screening
Test (Engineering Knowledge Test) for all eligible candidates at your own cost is
conducted at various Air Force units all over the country. Only those candidates who
pass this Screening Test are eligible to appear in the AFSB tests. Once recommended
by the AFSB’s a Medical Examination as per standards laid down is conducted at either
Air Force Central Medical Establishment, New Delhi or Institute of Aviation Medicine,
Bangalore. After clearing the medical examination, a merit list is prepared and
selection for the course is strictly as per the Merit

If you are interested to join Indian air force as an officer then the best and ony way is through UES and CDS the term UES means university entry scheme in which you are selected for SSB through your campus only . And the another is CDS i.e combined defence service examination. After completing this you are entered to various testing level and on every completion of test you become an officer in Indian air force.

You can enter the Air force by giving an SSB exam.
pre-final and final year students are eligible for SSB examination
It is a university entrance scheme.

The air force officers come to your campus for an interview and select the eligible candidates who can appear for SSB.
If selected you have a examination in 2 phases.
If you clear the first phase then there will be a 5 day testing period in the 2nd phase where your physical fitness, group behaviour etc will be tested.
If you clear the second phase, you may join the air force as an Officer..

Career In IAF after BSC

Dear you have'nt mentioned the subject of B.sc you are persuing.

However, CDS is the Only best option for you.

CDS: Examination is been conducted twice every year by upsc (http://www.upsc.gov.in) twice every year, for getting into all three defence services. The age limit for it is 23 years.

Qualification: For joining Defence through CDS qualification required are as follows

For ARMY:minimum qualification is bachelor degree with at least 60%.For NAVY:minimum qualification is B.sc (physics & maths) or B.tech/B.E. For AIRFORCE:minimum qualification is Bachelor degree (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or B.tech/B.E.

Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

The following are the three modes of entry for engineers to join the Indian Air force

For applying through any of the entry points mentioned above, you must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Age-19 to 23 years*

Marital Status-Single

Nationality-Indian

Gender-This is applicable to both men and women.

Educational Qualifications

Air Traffic Controller

As Air Traffic Controller, your core responsibilities will involve maintaining an orderly flow of traffic and airspace management.
Fighter Controller

As Fighter Controller, you will be posted to an Air Defence radar unit and will be responsible for close contact and supervision between the air and radar for effective airspace management.

To join the Administration Branches, you must fulfill the following criteria:
Age=20 to 23 years*

Marital Status=Single
Nationality=Indian

Gender=This is applicable to both men and women.
Educational Qualifications
First class (Min 60%) Graduate or Second Class (Min 50%) Post Graduate or an MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Two year full time or three year part-time course) from institutes recognised by All India Council for Technical Education with 50% marks. (C) Accounts Branch

Permanent/Short Service Commission

As an officer in the Accounts Branch, you are responsible for efficient management of funds as well as disbursement of pay and allowances to Air Force personnel. You will also act as internal auditor to ensure a zero-defect audit from outside agencies.

You must fulfil the following criteria to be a part of the Accounts Branch:

Nationality=Indian

The combination is good and can appear for the coming CDS exam.

BSc. Graduate students have got privelage to directly appear for SSB(Service Selection Board) Interview, they need not to appear for any selection test.

10. Indian Navy SSC Officer - Selection Procedure
(a) Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interviews based on their performance in educational qualification.
If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off.
Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) (IHQ-MoD (Navy)) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason.
No communication will be entertained on this account.
(b) SSB Interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled during Jan to Jun 2010 at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.
(c) The SSB interview is conducted over five days in two stages.
Stage - I include intelligence Test, Picture Perception test and Group discussion and is conducted on the first day.
Stage - II includes Psychological Tests, Group Task and personal interview conducted over the balance four days.
Candidates failing to qualify a particular stage would be sent back the same day.
Successful candidates would then have to clear a special medical examination at the same venue (approx duration 3-5 days).
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit will be appointed for training in order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(e) Change of SSB centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
(f) Candidates who wish to change their SSB dates, must apply to the President of the SSB.
(g) No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained during the selection process.
(h) Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for this entry would be eligible free rail sleeper class return fare.
Duties:
11. Duties of the Logistics officer and Catering officer are as follows:
(a) Logistics Officer:
As a Logistics Officer you will be dealing with the Logistics aspects of Men & Material for the Warships.
In no other career does an Officer gets exposed to such a wide spectrum of opportunities to keep abreast of modern and latest development in the field of management & finance.
(b) Catering Officer:
Two vacancies will be reserved for graduates in Hotel/Hospitality Management, who would be employed in the Navy only for jobs directly related to their specialization e.g. select Naval Messes (ashore and onboard ships), training, and other jobs concerning food/ beverages, rations, and housekeeping, as deemed appropriate.

The UPSC conducts CDS exam as to select qualified candidates to the Air Force. As to be eligible of the Air Force Academy (CDSE) exam the candidates must be within the Age Limit of 19 to 23 years. You can go directly through SSB in technical entry or appear in the CDS exam then get qualified in the SSB then serve the country as an officer.Remember you have to face an PABT test (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) which will you have chance once in a lifetime. i.e. If you will disqualified in that test then You can never appear for the same.

sir i am the student of bsc it and till 3rd sem i have maths and now i don't have maths and physics and i have seen in eligibility that maths and physics is required. I am in 2nd year and my family background is not well educated and i am little confused so please suggest me what should be my first step towards IAF
