Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry

JELET Exam is conducted by the West Bengal Engineering Council to take admission for those candidates who have completed their Diploma in Engineering course and who want to to bachelor Engineering course from Engineering colleges of West Bengal.Through this entrance test candidates will be able to get admission in Third semester directly.

Eligibility required to apply for JELET Entrance test

Educational qualification :-

• Candidates should have a Diploma engineering course of at least 3 years from recognized technical board and your Diploma curse should be approved from AICTE approved Organization.
• Those candidates who have Bachelor degree course in Mathematics and from UGC Recognized Institute will also be eligible to apply for this entrance test.

Marks required :-

• Candidates should have a minimum of 60% marks in Diploma/Degree course.

Exam Pattern for JELET Exam :-

• Questions will be included from four sections.
• Total number of questions will be 100.
• Total marks for this exam will be 200.
• Total duration of this entrance test will be 2 hour and 309 minutes.
• There will be Negative Marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Syllabus for JELET Exam :-

1. Mathematics/Biology.
2. Physics.
3. Chemistry.
4. English.

Total number of colleges which participate form this entrance test is 45.
Each colleges have 35 seats for Private Institutions.
For Government Engineering colleges of west Bengal each colleges have 60 seats and there are 5 Government colleges of west Bengal which participate through this entrance test.
Total number of seats in deemed University is 20 and total participating Deemed universities are 4.
