Actually, it is very difficult to estimate the actual number of seats.
But based on an average we can provide you a narrow range on the basis of which the motive of asking your question will be solved.

On an average, the total number of seats in the IIT's for the chemical branch are around 260-300.

Since new IIT's are establishing year after year then we can say that these number will increase and also help aspirants like you to have better chance to get in the IIT's for Post graduation.

Can I get admission in IIT in general category with AIR 440 and marks 49.03 in chemistry ?
