I am interested doing PG in Advertising and PR in IIMC. please tell me how to prepare for the entrance exam. also is it compulsory to have a masters degree or work experience in the same field? is it enough to read newspapers or is there a syllabus or a set of books I need to study? please give me some details of the type of questions asked in the entrance exam.

No it is not necessary that you should have a PG degree for appearing this exam.
Eligibility: A degree in any discipline from a recognzied university
Exams are conducted in May and course commences in August each year.
Selection will be based on written test performance only
Since the seats are very limited, competition will be high.

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is a important institute in the field of media studies in India.

in general the IIMC offers the courses as follows:

1:Journalism in English
2:Journalism in Hindi,
3:Advertising and Public Relations,
4:Radio and Television Journalism,
5:Journalism in Oriya

However, to have the admission in PG in IIMC you should sit in admission test regarding with written test and group discussion and interview,for this there are some Criteria:

1:You have to pass the pass the Bachelor degree with a desirable marks.

2: Preference is given if you have any experience in media related work.

3:Your age should not be greater than 25yr.

4:After the written test ,if you clear the written test then you will be called for GD and then Personal Interview.

5:There are chance of Scholarships on the merit-cum-means basis for a bright academic performance for PG student .

6:At the time of admission ,you have to pay Rs.1,500/- towards Student's Welfare Fund.

7:If your medium of instruction as well as the examination is English or Hindi then the tuition fees is 34,000 each

8:If your medium of instruction as well as the examination is English and Hindi then the tuition fees is 48,000/- each.

9:If your medium of instruction as well as the examination is Oriya then the tuition fees is 20,000/- each.

from where can i get to know the syllabus for the pg advertisement entrance exam, to be held at iimc??

I am in the final year of my graduation and I am willing to join IIMC. It is not mentioned in the website that how much percentage you need in your graduation to apply for the course. I would really appreciate if you specify what would be a desirable score.
