Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) conducts a national level entrance test for the intake of eligible candidates to the postgraduate courses in journalism. Those who have qualified this exam will be called for group discussion and interview. Performance of the candidates in group discussion and interview will be also considered for the admission.

Structure and Syllabus for IIMC Entrance Exam Pattern

IIMC Entrance Exam will be a written test consisting of questions on language, general awareness and aptitude. Medium of the examination will be based on the course selected by the candidates. If the candidates want to pursue PG Diploma in Journalism (Oriya), then the medium of entrance examination will be Oriya. If they choose PG Diploma in Journalism (English), then the question paper for entrance examination will be in English. Medium of entrance exam question paper for the candidates who want to pursue PG Diploma in Journalism (Hindi) will be Hindi. General syllabus of this examination is given below.

Question Pattern of IIMC Entrance Exam Pattern

Question pattern of this exam will vary according to the courses. Objective type and descriptive type questions will be asked in the IIMC Entrance Exam. Candidates should select the appropriate answer from the given options while attending the objective questions. In the descriptive section, candidates should give long answer for ten marks on knowledge-based subjects like Indo Russian relations or general subjects like favorite radio and TV program or favorite advertisement. Duration given for this exam will be for two hours.
