The three branches of the Air force are

• Flying,
• Ground duty
• and Technical branch.

CDSE i.e Combined Defense Service Examination which held twice in a year and conducted by union public service commission board of India.

To become a pilot in IAF you have two kind of entries
First you can join through NDA after clearing NDA exam in Science and Maths subjects.
If you want to go for another option that can be after graduation in engineering through University Entry Scheme and CDS.
As you are in 11th and keen to join IAF as a pilot then I would like to suggest you to first pass your 12th exams and then apply go for NDA.Maintain a good physique and personality as well.

These air force exam can be conducted by UPSC.

Educational qualifications:You have to pass 12th standard with 60% of marks.

Age limit:16 to 19 years.


In Air force we have 3 branches.

If you want to join IAF then you should opt some steps:
step1:Written test and receipts of application.
All admission forms are first checked for the eligibility.The eligibility criteria is 60% in a particular field.
If you seek entry into the Flying Branch through the NDA or CDSE, your applications need to be sent to UPSC, New Delhi then UPSC conducts written exam twice a year that is april & august (NDA) and april & september (CDSE).
step2:Testing officer like qualities.
If you have cleared your step 1 then you will receive a call letter to the air force selection boards.Now you undergo a number of psychological tests,an interview and group tests which are known as the officer like qualities (OLQ) tests.

A great choice to be a Pilot for the service of India.

for this you have to follow some criteria:
1:You should pass 10+2 with Physics,Math,Chemistry scoring minimum 50% marks.

2:You have to join any Air Flying School.

3:You should be 17 years of age.

4:You have to qualify the first step in Pilot training is achieving of Student Pilot Licence (SPL). then you can start flight training to get Private Pilot Licence (PPL).
