Logical reasoning cannot be taught to anybody. But, in order to accomplish success in solving such problems, understanding the pattern of the questions is important,as, not all reasoning questions are of the same type.
For understanding and getting accustomed with the pattern, you could try using the books written by R.S. Aggarwal on the subject. It will have maths problems too.
Rather than trying to increase your speed of answering, you could try and increase the frequency of correct answers because almost all competitive examinations have the rule of mark deduction on wrong answers.
Once you get accustomed with the pattern of the questions, you just need to practice them enough to reach your time-limit of 5 seconds per question.
there is actually no trick behind this, but, don't worry, it comes into you once you start practicing regularly.
Hope this helped. Best of luck.

Hello ovais,
You have mentioned one subject which is mathematics. Now the key for success in mathematics is constant practice. Unless you practice mathematics questions, the question pattern will never be understood by you. Also the answer format will set in your hand quite effectively. You can buy books on mathematics to get a flavor like that written by R.S. Agarwal. The best thing about books by R.S. Agarwal is that they are made simple for people to understand and the more your practice them, the better you get a grip on the subject. The same thing I would like to say about logical reasoning also. You can buy the book buy the same author and practice them every day to get a grip of different pattern of questions. In my opinion maintain two different copies for practicing each. Good Luck.
