To pursue Marine Engineering Program after completion of Diploma, following eligibility criteria needs to fulfilled:

• Should have completed the Diploma Course in any of the following discipline :

Mechanical Engineering
Marine Engineering
Naval Architecture
Electrical Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the final year examination of the diploma program.

• Must have scored atleast 50% marks in English at any academic level (10th/12th/Diploma)

• Must not be over 28 years of age.

-> As you completed diploma you can directly promoted to 2nd year in engineering of your corresponding branch . This is commonly called lateral entry .
-> First you need to choose the college in which you wish to join then get the necessary details like whether admission procedure through exam or donation .
-> Diploma students don't have chance to get admission in IIT's .
-> The college which offers only marine stream will be better because much scope will be there to know new stuff.
