Re: I want to become an aeronautical engineer
The eligibilty criteria is that you must have completed 10 + 2 Science with a high percentage of marks in Science subjects and qualifying (JEE).The Madras Institute of Technology(MIT) offers a year postgraduate programme in aeronautical engineering for B.Sc. students. The following are the institutes offering aeronautical engineering:
IIT-Powai,IIT-Kharagpur,IIT-Chennai,Hindustan Inst of Engineering Technology-Chennai,Nehru College of Aeronautical and Applied Sciences-Coimbatore,IIT-Kanpur. All the best. |

Re: I want to become an aeronautical engineer
Yes its a great choice. If you want to do Aeronautical Engineering then you ave to appear for Undergraduate engineering exams like IIT JEE, AIEEE . IIT is the most presetigious of all. But its a tough nut to crack.
After you complete your Aeronautical Engineering you can do your postgraduate.Jobs will be mostly in Aviation section or in ISRO or you can even try in NASA!! Cheers |

Re: I want to become an aeronautical engineer
Aeronautical engineering is very tough, you have to prepare hard for it. You should prepare for IIT,the best way for aeronautics and IIT Mumbai is best for it. You should also prepare for others competative exams like JEE,AIEE,etc.but the best way is IIT. Well all the best!

Re: I want to become an aeronautical engineer
Helo friend,
Aeronautical engineering is a field where you will study aeronautics and space science. Ypu can expertise yourself in any of these departments as aernautical engineer: 1.Structural design 2.navigational guidance and control system 3. Production method 4. Millitary aircraft 5.Passenger plain 6. Helicopter 7. satelite 8. Rocket etc. The minimum eligibility to become aeronautical engineer is BE/BTech in aeronautical engineering or a Diploma in aeronautics. For admission in these courses, one needs to appear for an entrance exam such as AIEEE, IIT JEE and others related to engineering. You need to have qualified your +2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths to get admission in the Bachelors programme of aeronautical engineering. The duration of this course will be 4 years. Institutes like Madras Institute of technology and Indian Institute of science also offers M tech and Phd. in Aeronautics. |

Re: I want to become an aeronautical engineer
there is no great need to appear in any competitive exam to be an aeronautical engineer.
just join some private aeronautical engineering college which prepares the students for 'associate membership examination' conducted by the AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY OF INDIA. this degree is equivalent to a b.e/b.tech. degree offered by any university in india.this degree is recognised by the government of india to pursue higher studies. just u have to pass this exam conducted by this society semester wise. some of the good institutes preparing for this exam are IIAE dehradun,IIAS kolkata,AGRAGANI etc. u can also take admission in hindustan institute of technology. this is the best aeronautical engineering college in india. |
