Re: If a candidate scores an OBC rank of 1 then will be included in General?
your question is not clear. for which examination you are talking you have not mentioned. i think your question is that if any one from OBC is ranked 1 and now he wants to consider himself as general category candidate as his rank is good then it is possible or not? i think this your question.
yes it is possible. one OBC category candidate may consider himself as general category candidates if he/she wish. actually in JEE or any other entrance examination where reservation are available they give two rank one general category rank and other is reserved category rank. now if any one from reserved category not able to submit any certificate for his/her reservation then automatically he/she will be considered as general category candidates. it also possible to take admission as general category candidate although being a OBC candidates without producing the caste certificate. there is no problem on this. but no OBC candidate will leave the advantage of their caste. they will try to take admission in the best institution with this very good OBC rank. |

It totally depend upon your merit number in general category . If you are among the toppers then you will have higher chances to be in general category merit also. Its upto you to decide to take admison through which category .

Re: If a candidate scores an OBC rank of 1 then will be included in General?
Yes if a candidate scores rank 1 in O.B.C category he may be considered as General.
Because there are two types of seats in any entrance exam - Reserved and Unreserved (Open ) The seat allotment is done in to steps. At first the open seats are filled according to the over all rank of all the candidates. In the open seats any candidate having the highest ranks can get the seats. That candidate may be either General, OBC, SC, or ST. Thus if the that candidate gets a seat according to his over all rank then he is considered as a General Candidate. In the second step the reserved seats are filled on the basis of the category ranks. |

Dear candidate,
Yes, if you have in OBC category and you have 1st rank then you would be consider as an open category candidate. so that's why OBC candidate who is in wait list after your rank get a admission as a OBC candidate. Best of luck! |

what if an obc candidate gets alloted to seat type GOPENH ,than does that mean he is allotted to open category seat. If yes than what is the procedure to keep his allotment as a open candidate.

Re: If a candidate scores an OBC rank of 1 then will be included in General?
In SSC combined graduate level tier 2 exam the cut off for group B posts for UR was 354.75 where as for obc it was 323.75. For group C posts cut off for UR was 315.25 and for OBC 283.75. My question is suppose for a candidate who has say 345, he certainly will not be considered for group B posts for UR as he has below 354.75....but will he be considered for group B for his own OBC category of for Grop-c post of UR category...as he has more than 315.25...?

Re: If a candidate scores an OBC rank of 1 then will be included in General?
if a candidate belongs to reserve category and applied through same category for recruitment exam for job and he scored overall rank of 1 then will be included in general category (for example if general category have 5 seats and reserve category have 5 seats i.e. total are 10 seats),as he has rank 1 of total 10 then weather he will occupy the seat of general category or reserve category....

Re: If a candidate scores an OBC rank of 1 then will be included in General?
if a candidate of obc cat secured 1st rank in common merit then he/she should allot obc seat insted from UR seats otherwise it will violate the reservation norms of 27% reservation for obc. and it should be made clear that whether it is "27 % reservation to obc" or "minimum 27% reservation to obc"???
