Re: Information about JEE mains and JEE advanced?
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is the new combined entrance exam which has replaced AIEEE and IIT-JEE entrance exam. The view of the government was to have one entrance exam instead of two.
Which is why it worked on new exam format which is known as JEE. Although earlier it was named ISEET entrance exam but in the end government decided to name it JEE. The JEE has two stages as you also know. JEE Mains JEE Advanced The JEE Mains is the replacement of AIEEE entrance exam. If you want admission for the 15 percent All India Seats and for National Institutes of Technology then you will have to clear JEE Mains. The exam gives weightage to your performace in 12 standard as well. The ratio is 60: 40. The JEE Advanced is for admission in Indian Institutes of Technology. If you want admission in IIT then you will first have to appear for the JEE Mains and follow it by the JEE Advanced. Both exams should be cleared to get admission in IITs. It should be remembered that not everyone who will clear JEE Mains will be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced. Only the top 150,000 will be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Eligibility 1. You must complete 12th standard from recognized college. 2. Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be the subjects. 3. 3-4 years diploma from AICTE recognized college will also be accepted. 4. The age should be less than 25 years to apply. 5. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. 6. 3 consecutive attempts are given. |
