Civil engineering and jobs in India mostly start on a low responsibility note. The tasks become more and more responsible as they demonstrate their level of proficiency in the required field.
However the fine points of their career path can fluctuate sometimes. The basic qualification that is needed is a bachelor in engineering.
Of course one can always add on further qualifications. One very important thing is that all those who seek to study civil engineering should have a strong background in Mathematics and Physical sciences. Civil engineers often work in diverse settings varying from plush modern offices to job sites in extremely remote areas. One thing is for sure that the job often involves frequent traveling.

Most of the engineers work in teams or in synchronization with a lot of other engineers. They can also work as autonomous consultants. There are varied fields of interest with civil engineer jobs in India. They are mostly structural, water resources, environmental, geo-technical etc. Another vital thing to be discussed is the remuneration part that totally depends upon the type of industry. They can work in state or central government or private concerns etc or overseas civil engineering jobs. But whatever the work, the salary is given in quite a balanced proportion. There may be variations in the salary but on the whole the job of civil engineering is quite in demand in India.
