Apart from teaching, the career in geography depends upon your speciality in a particular area such as Economic Geography, Cultural Geography, Political Geography, Tourism Geography,Environmental geography etc.
since you have not mentioned your specialization, i am providing you with the career options after masters in geography, in general.
The one with masters degree in geography may be employed in the following areas:
1. Travel Journalism
2.Travel agencies
3.Manufacturing firms
4.Real estate
5.Communication and Transportation
Apart from these options, one can also work as forest managers , Demographers, Cartographer, Surveyor, Remote Sensing etc.
A qualified geographer may also join planning and development commission, intelligence department of central, state or local government.

dear madam,
first of all i will advice you to ask your question only in the english language so that each and every member can understand it so that they can reply you better,
at this stage i will suggest you to give the exam of the NET and then join a teaching line,
it will be more better for you.

if you have done the M.A in geography then why not you give the exam of the NET,because after the qualifying the net exam you can be a professor or lecturer in government as well as private college,and also this will be best for you.

now i m totaly confused about future.i m in 3 year geography honourse from calcutta university.l m much more interested in GIS OR some technical line so please suggest me the university which offers gis or other technical course.my combination is geography honourse with economics and sociology.please help me soon.

As per your educational qualification i.e on the basis of post graduation degree you are eligible for Civil Services examination, UPSC SSC examination, Bank Clerical Cadre and Probationary Officer recruitment Examination.

Dear Madam since u have done MA in geography u can go for planning geography curriculum. There is lot of demand for curriculum planning where the pay scale is also good enough better than what teachers earn these days. If u don't understanding what planning curriculum is i will tell u what it is.
Planning curriculum is basically planning lessons for schools with reference to the textbooks the school follows. here u don;t have to teach u just have to plan and the company will send it to schools,even e-learning comes under this planning curriculum.
