Hello,

Dates for the online CPT exam have need annunced as of yet. However, dates for the exam in paper in pencil mode is 19th June 2011.
You can fill up the CPT 2011 examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 4th April, 2011 (10:00 hrs) to 25th April, 2011 (17:30hrs) and remit the fee online by using credit card, either VISA or Master Card.

You can also obtain the form from the following address:

Additional Secretary (Examinations),
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India,
ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg,
New Delhi – 110 002.

The cost of form is Rs. 600/- (Rs.500/- towards examination fee and Rs. 100/- towards cost of CA CPT Exam 2011 application form and CPT June 2011 Information brochure).

* Paper Pencil Mode of CPT June 2011 Examination – Sunday, the 19th June, 2011

I. Common Proficiency Test (Paper-Pencil Mode)

The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) Paper-Pencil mode Examination will be held on Sunday, the 19th June, 2011 in accordance with the revised scheme of education, training and examination of the Chartered Accountancy Course.

First Session (i.e. Morning Session) 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM (IST)
Section - A Fundamentals of Accounting
Section - B Mercantile Laws
Second Session (i.e. Afternoon Session) 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM (IST)
Section - C General Economics
Section - D Quantitative Aptitude

This is one of the exams conducted by ICAI. The last exam was held in October 2010. The last date for sending the form was 9th October. The number of seats are limited so you must apply as soon the notification is out. The date for the next exam has not been declared so you need to be on the lookout for the same.

The date for the CPT online exam is not announced yet. Anyway the CPT (paper-pencil mode ) exam is going to be conducted on 19th June,2011 which is on Sunday.

As far as the procedure to apply is concerned, here i am providing you the detailed information.

CPT- Common Proficiency Test is an entry level test for the Chartered Accountancy course.

Initially you have to register with the ICAI- the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and then if you fulfill the eligibility requirements for CPT exam, then you can appear for the exam which is conducted twice in a year.

The minimum educational qualification to registration is SSC and the minimum eligibility to appear for the CPT exam is 10+2.

Students from any group in their 10+2 are eligible and there is no fixed percentage is needed in their 10+2 to appear for the exam.

Registration for the course requires the students to apply in the prescribed form enclosing the details relating to the educational qualifications,age etc.as well as the prescribed fee mentioned in the application.

The ICAI is divided into 5 regions- north,south,east,west, central. All the aspects relating to the student except conduct of main examinations are monitored and tracked by the regional offices.

You can get the application form from the head post offices, the regional centers and they can be submitted in the relevant regional centers.

At the time of applying, the original certificate of 10th class should be enclose and duly attested photo copies too.

ICAI doesn't conduct it's exam in online mode the candidate must go to a exam centre in order to attend the exam.Due to the current pandemic all the exams has been postponed to November you should wait for it.
