NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted by the University Grants Commission.

If you have completed Masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks then you are eligible for UGC NET exam. Final year of Masters degree candidates can also apply for NET exam.

Your age should be below 28 years for JRF post. Age relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who belongs to SC / ST / PWD / OBC category.

2014 December NET exam is not announced yet but it will be announced very soon.
