You have to apply for the engineering entrance examination like AIEEE or IIT for the admission in engineering colleges. Every year the AIEEE and IIT exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for the engineering course in various colleges of India.

M'tech -- Master of Technology.

This is a Post Graduation course which is done after the B'tech aspirants.

As you are asking about the Specializations in EEE, I think you are from B'tech EEE.

M.Tech specializations in Electrical Engineering :

Power Electronics & Drives

Power Systems Engineering

Instrumentation & Control Systems

Computer Controlled Industrial Power

All these Specializations have good Scope , Demand and Market.

For getting into this course, you need to appear for the GATE Examination.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering .

GATE Exam is carried out all over India.

GATE 2012 was already held on Feb 12th and the results are also released on 15th of March.

GATE 2013 Tentative Dates :

The application forms can collected online on September 4th week.
The forms are available until October 3rd week.
The application forms can be collected from the GATE office counters at the end of October.
Filled forms can submitted online until October last week and offline before November 1st week.

The GATE exam carried out in the month of February.
The results come out by March mid week.

About the Examination :

The Duration of the Exam is 3 hours.
No. of Questions : 60.
Total Marks : 100.

And negative marking for wrong answer exist, for every wrong wrong answer 1/4 th of the Mark is deducted.

Once you are Qualified in the Exam, you are asked for the Counselling Process for admission.
