Majority of colleges offer M.Tech admission on the basis of GATE score.
Gate is not very high funda exam. Its imply related your subject of graduation which is not supposed to be new for you.
Just get the syllabus and start preparing for the exam.
You can get the syllabus and related Booklist for Gate Biotech at

For biotechnology you can appear VITMEE also. Which is conducted by VIT Vellore for MTech admission to various programs including Biotech.

you see,GATE exam is nothing but a exam,which will just check you what do you learn in your B.Tech course.

so all the questions come from your know topic.though some of them are do you have forget.

so you have to recaptulate all of these.

you may also take coaching classes for make a better preparation to crack the GATE.

you may also take admission in M.Tech by given entrence,conducting some universities.

Apart from GATE exam some Universities offer Admission to M.Tech conducting their own Written Test.

It is not mandatory that all candidates doing M.Tech must pass GATE score
So, you can try any of these and some other universities in your State which offer M.Tech without GATE exam.

GATE (Graduation Aptitude Test ) is the common entrance test for Mtech and for candidates who wish to study abroad has to appear for GRE exam. Apart from GATE some of the top universities conduct their own exams like Medical and Agriculture Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) by Osmania University. JNU conducts combined biotechnology entrance exam.

for gate exam you should be really good in the subject,you should practice lots of problems ,
you should also try to write many sample tests,
there are many exams other than gate like
pgcet,
vits and bits admission tests etc
