can a b.tech student with IT branch opt for a different branch in m.tech?

hey friend!!!!
you can very well opt for M.Tech in different branch even though ur a B.Tech IT student... some of the courses offered are

M.Tech -> { web and mobile technology , satellite technology }.... these are the options wen u go for M.Tech...

actually u can take only branch related subject in M.Tech.but you can take some of electronics subjects......

yes, you can opt another branch in m.tech like electronics and communication,computer science etc. but it is related to one of your subjects you have studied in b.tech

yes you can do this but there will be no benefit of doing this. because m tech is the masters degree and how will you clear the exam when you are not known with the basics. so you must do m tech with same trade.

I think you can opt for different branches for the M.Tech studies but it will not be beneficial for you.

Better to go for the same branch which will help you in the future prospects.So go for it.

if you have decided to go for m.tech then its a really good option to pursue your studies.And as you have asked,m.tech is always related to your subjects of b.tech so that you an understand easily.Rest depends on our interests.

actually you can go for m.tech in different branch , but the only criteria is that it should relate with your b.tech branch(it).

yes,in addition you have to pay 200rs.
then you can apply at any other branch of mtech also.

You can get Mtech through GATE (graduate aptitude test) followed by an interview.Mtech is a two year course.The various branches in Mtech include mining, electronics and instrumentation, software engineering, electronics and communication, network engineering.The gate score is 300 for general and 200 for SC/ST.The aspirants should score minimum 50% marks in graduation. Amravati University , Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow University, Indian School of Mines Dhanbad,Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur,Indian Institute of Technology .are some of the colleges providing Mtech.

Yes, of course you can do MTech. after Btech. in a different branch.

But you can pursue MTech. only in related subjects i.e. subjects which you have studied in BTech. IT.

In my opinion you should not change your branch because it will be difficult for you to understand new concepts.

Moreover IT branch offers good job prospects with handsome salary & huge perks. There is no need to change your branch.

Only thing is that you should have knowledge about the subjects.so dear you have to work hard for it and you will have to score good percentile to get admission to good college.

you can change your branch in m.tech. as you are a IT graduate so for you software related subjects will be more helpful.

but if you rae interested in other subjects then you are free to take.but for this you have to score good percentile in GATE exam.

Yes, you can opt other branch in M.Tech. but it should be related to any one of your subject you studied in B.Tech. and if you want to change your branch then I'll suggest you to do hard work, this will be requirement of the course.good luck..
