My son is the final semistrar student in IIT, Madras in Thermal in Mechanical engg. Will he get job of professor.lecturer in IITs/NITs. Please send the reply to my email:[email protected]

Ask your son to complete M.Tech degree to become professor/lecturer. NET qualification is also mandatory. Institutes like IIT normally recruit PH.d qualified candidates. Work experience too to is an important criteria. Selection is done through an interview conducted at IIT/NIT. IIT website often displays details on available job opportunities. You can submit applications through the website of IIT itself.

Eligibilty to become an Professor in Engineering colleges are

BE/Btech pass
and
ME/Mtech pass

Candidates needs to score atleast 60% marks in either BE/BTECH or ME/MTECH

The above are the minimum qualifications required by AICTE

Apart from the above qualificatiosn candidates also need to have done PHD.
Some research experience.

So first thing is that he should do MTECH.

Ph.D. is the basic minimum qualification to become a professor in IIT. It's necessary, but not sufficient.

Most of the new profs join the teaching field after completing their Post Doctorate. It allows them to work with best researchers in their fields before joining the Institutes.

You need to make sure that your research is top notch (publications in top journals) and you should have degrees from prestigious institutes.
Having a degree from IIT also helps to further your cause.
